About the role 🏠

As a founding member of the OwnHome operations team, you will be responsible for working relentlessly to ensure that our customers’ homebuying experience is the most delightful in Australia; that the homes meet investment-grade criteria, both for the company and for our future homeowners. You will also be supporting and optimising the processes to underwrite our customers and ensure they are capable of meeting the monthly savings OwnHome requires toward their future home purchase.  We’re purchasing homes at scale, growing every month and constantly developing methods and technology to improve our processes.

In your role, you’ll drive our day-to-day customer underwriting workflow forward and look for ways to make it faster and better. You’ll communicate directly with customers, agents, and your colleagues to achieve detailed precision and handoffs between teams. Best of all, you’ll offer measurable impact to the most critical parts of the homebuying process - moving our customers closer to their goal of homeownership.

Responsibilities 🚀

  • As part of the founding team, working closely with the founders and head of Business Operations to build the world’s best processes on customer underwriting and home purchasing - we genuinely mean it when we say that you’ll get to design and build OwnHome’s key processes as we scale. 

  • Negotiate with suppliers in the value chain of home purchasing and valuation..

  • React to bottlenecks and inefficiencies that impact the customer experience.

  • Develop rapid fluency with our existing systems and processes.

  • Probe inspection, customer and home cost patterns. Identify individual and systemic issues that affect the home inspection and closing processes. Drive improvement!

  • Leverage analytics to improve and automate these systems and processes as we grow at a tremendous rate. Exceed the status quo and deliver exceptional communication, collaboration and service to customers, colleagues and stakeholders of all levels.

  • Roll with the punches, alongside your teammates, to continue building bigger and better.

    • You have 3+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm, management consulting firm, investment bank or startup, and deep project management responsibilities with a proven bias to execution

    • You have used your analytical, quantitative, detail, communicative and organisational skills...simultaneously 🤓

    • You have experience balancing execution of short-term responsibilities while building improved processes and policies.

    • You have exceptional customer relations skills and a polished writing style.

    • You have familiarity with CRM Platforms (e.g. Hubspot)
